Expired Domains Policy
In the event that a domain name is not renewed by its expiry date it shall cease to operate and shall be deemed to have been expired. A domain name shall expire if we are unable to take payment via any method stored on your customer account or if the customer fails to manually renew the domain name. It is the customers responsibility to make sure that the email address stored on their customer account is up to date and is able to receive renewal reminders from us. The email address used to register the domain name will also be used at the UK registry to send you renewal reminders directly.
The customer acknowledges that three (3) calendar days after the date of expiration we may at our sole discretion carry out the following actions:
- Renew the domain name;
- Park the domain name on different Name Servers from those set by the customer
Following the expiration of the domain name, the customer acknowledges that they have up to 30 days to contact us (the registrar) to retrieve and renew the domain name at the registry (where applicable), and that the customer will pay for said renewal at the rate specified on the domain pricing page.
Upon receiving the Renewal Fee within the 30 day period, we will renew the domain name and you will retain ownership of the requested domain and as soon as reasonably practicable we shall restore the requested domain to your control panel.
If we do not receive the renewal fee as specified on the domains pricing page within the 30 day period specified above, we may at our discretion terminate the agreement and change ownership of the requested domain although the customer will still have the opportunity to renew the domain for a further 45 days after the 30 day period.
We will always endeavour to contact the registrant using any and all methods available to gain explicit consent before ownership details are changed so it's important that contact details are up-to-date and accurate. There will be a record of all correspondence within the email history section of the client area. We will always endeavour to renew domain names on behalf of our customers, however we make no guarantees that all attempted renewals will be successful and it is the responsibility of the registrant to check the WHOIS database to ensure their domain name has been renewed.
IMPORTANT : As a failsafe or safeguard for UK domains, registrants (you) will receive a renewal reminder directly from the UK registry 30 days before expiry, 7 days before expiry and when it has expired.
